Joe earned an M.S. in Industrial Supervision in the field of Engineering and Technology in 1992. During school, he worked in foodservice and construction. An entrepreneur at heart, Joe ventured into business ownership with his wife, Janet. He’s started/restructured seven businesses, all directly associated with or complementing the foodservice industry. Joe’s extensive knowledge in the restaurant industry includes retail, wholesale, purchasing, and operations. He’s also skilled in contract negotiation, management and systems, budget planning, and payment processing. Joe sets high standards for himself and those around him; most comfortable doing the hard work and unafraid to dream big, he’ll push further than most to achieve his goals.
Joe is the President of the Greater Madison Tennis Association, Chair of his 4th USTA Midwest Committee/Taskforce, Developer of First Service Doubles (FSD), doubles tennis with dogs and their human partners, and Founder & Director of the Isthmus Cup, a local tennis tournament. He also served as Treasurer on a business condo association board. Joe stays fit through biking, running, hiking, snowshoeing, tennis and loves to golf. Joe also enjoys tackling home improvement projects and other chores. Joe’s favorite pastime is spending time with his family.
Occasionally outspoken, committed to certain positions, and unwilling to slow down, Joe is thankful for his wife, son, sisters, and close friends, who keep him in line.
